At the foot of the German Alps, the story of Wildkaffee began in 2010. Founders Leonhard and Stefanie Wild, both former professional athletes, carried their passion for excellence from the sports arena into the world of coffee. After retiring, they turned their pursuit of perfection toward roasting, driven by a desire to create coffee that truly met their standards.
While running restaurants in their early years, the couple grew dissatisfied with the ordinary coffee on the market. Determined to change that, they began roasting their own beans, studying origins, varieties, and roasting curves in depth. They traveled to coffee farms across Central and South America and Africa, working alongside farmers to understand every step from cultivation to harvest. They firmly believed that only by understanding both the land and the people could one create coffee with true soul.
Wildkaffee soon gained recognition for its precision roasting and signature flavor profiles, earning multiple championship titles in international coffee competitions.
“Every cup of coffee is a connection between people and the land,” says the team — a philosophy that drives all they do. Through initiatives such as the Coffee School Project, they support education and training in coffee-growing communities, helping farmers build more sustainable futures. For Wildkaffee, the brand name now represents not just the taste of specialty coffee, but a champion’s spirit — uncompromising, ever-improving, and crafted with heart.
YPAK – Safeguarding Every Sip of Flavor
As Wildkaffee grew, the brand sought packaging that could reflect its values — turning quality, texture, and design into an extension of its philosophy. They found the ideal partner in YPAK, a coffee packaging specialist known for its innovation and craftsmanship.

Together, the two brands have developed five generations of coffee bags, each one evolving in both design and performance — becoming visual storytellers for Wildkaffee’s journey.
The first generation featured natural kraft paper printed with delicate coffee plant illustrations, symbolizing the brand’s respect for origin and authenticity. YPAK’s fine printing techniques captured the texture of leaves, making every bag feel like a gift from the farm itself.

To commemorate barista Martin Woelfl winning the World Brewers Cup Champion 2024, Wildkaffee and YPAK launched the fourth edition of the Champion Coffee Bag. The bag features a dominant purple tone accented with gold-foil typography, highlighting the elegance and prestige of a champion.


By the fifth generation, YPAK integrated plaid patterns and pastoral character illustrations into the design, creating a look that is both vintage and contemporary. The diverse color palettes and layouts convey a spirit of freedom and inclusivity, giving each generation of packaging a distinctive sense of its time.


Beyond visuals, YPAK continually improved performance — employing high-barrier multi-layer materials, nitrogen-flushing freshness systems, and one-way degassing valves to preserve flavor. The flat-bottom structure enhanced shelf stability, while matte windows offered a direct view of the beans, enriching the consumer experience.
